Let the ideas flow =)

Friday got BUSY.. so today I will hopefully squash a bug and get a pic of the waterfall up here then proceed with those other props… If you have any more ideas fire away I love the ones given so far -)

Update: Great ideas keep them a coming ;)…

So now the prop list is as follows as what I want to add in:
1. Finish the waterfall and its code to know when water touches an edge and add a waterfall there on sector build.
2. Rail tracks broken and abandoned.
3. Random floor patterns seeded off their X and Y.
4. Wires coming down and hitting a wall at an abandoned terminal.
5. Abandoned terminals in the level.
6. roots or veins in the walls randomly seeded x and y
7. remember to make a good joke like the doom marine in duke nukem… carefully. =)

1. Dripping pools. they would have to fit in one square and would take a lot of time to get right.

If anyone reading has some good ideas for anything in game please post it in the comments =).. no idea is a bad idea. Doom has already given some really good food for thought =)… Today I am taking a half day to spend with my wifey =). Then I will get back at it tonight to hopefully get the waterfall in (just a regular one for now.) I am planning on the levels getting more intense as you progress into the game with other stuff flowing =)…more later

    Ryan, how about the occasional riccochet sound and dust effects from the bullets that those auto turrets fire? Can’t remember if that was something you had in there or not? Not sure about the time or resources to do that but could be a nice effect..and maybe some shiny glinting effect on the tips of those double pick axes? πŸ˜‰

    Not sure if it’s fitting but, how about old railway tracks, carts, pickaxes and such? Something like in Oblivion where it starts off with rustic old mines and all of the sudden turns into old crypts. Maybe vines or roots coming out of the walls?

      I think I will have more random walls… IE some walls have roots.. some floors have rocks… Good stuff =)

    If you add the railway tracks, carts and stuff then I think it would be awesome if you added ore veins to some of the walls, like silver and gold and stuff. Also maybe some support structures like metal support beams going up to the ceiling or old style mine supports. Oh and possibly pipes along the walls going in and out or running along the ground maybe even some like broken pipes that leak tiny pools of like glowing green liquid or something. Possibly some old abandoned communication areas (like having wires come from the walls and connect to broken down terminals or screens). I’ll try and think of more and post it later.

    Maybe a type of randomly spawned, relatively rare wall which is a train car or wooden minecart. Would be breakable, maybe drop some materials, if you end up implementing them, or they could just be a nice looking wall.

      I like it. I want to also have the present system Mission Europa does. Thus I could also have items found in walls. I am thinking they are big buffs you can use on a minnion.

    Maybe a type of randomly spawned, relatively rare wall which is a train car or wooden minecart. Would be breakable, maybe drop some materials, if you end up implementing them, or they could just be a nice looking wall.
    You could also have walls with those little slide metal doors that you pull aside to see who is outside your door, and every once in awhile it would slide open and a pair of eyes would peek through.

    The occasional tremor, followed by a fogging dust effect.

    On the design you have gone for a blue effect like Diablo, a red lava effect would look fantastic, esspecially if the drops were not infinate. It would look like the whole thing was floating on lava.

      Yes sir that does sound good. I plan on ,if time permits, to have different pieces per episode …so users will be the one we see then it will move to a hellish set where lava and burning go great. All the colors are easily set via script so I can do some really fun stud….that is if I find this silly bug that I am after right now πŸ˜‰

      Keep the ideas rolling this is really helping… Skeleton idea is great.

      I was going to be grey with the game but I need to pull back for rating I feel… Not sure how it effects sales but I want everyone to be able to play so skeletons are great πŸ˜‰

        What about random TNT boxes or barrels that we could shoot? They could be in front of doors to blow open..or collected and placed to either open caved in tunnels..or create a cave in behind or in front to temporarily block the bad guys? Or used to locate hidden rooms..etc?

      Just remembered in old duke nukem there was a secret room that had a dead guy from doom..you should do that for a secret guest appearance ..

        LOL that would be awesome and hav the dungeoun keeper character horney…not dead though maybe like an old man horney or something… have to watch the ip though… it would have to be legal as that was a high dollar IP and I LOVE IT TOO =)
